    Community Volunteers

Volunteers are a significant part of our community, especially during disasters when they provide vital assistance and response and recovery support.

‘We know many of our community are keen to help with the Covid-19 pandemic response and recovery activities,’ said a Council spokeswoman.

‘We are exploring ways volunteers can assist while ensuring the health, safety, privacy and wellbeing of volunteers and the people they are supporting.

‘Please bear with us while we get our head around the logistics and requirements.

‘In the meantime, if you’re interested in volunteering during Covid-19, sign up at Volunteering Queensland’s Emergency Volunteering (EV CREW), so we can call on you when help is needed.

‘Volunteering Queensland also has up-to-date information for volunteer organisations and community groups, including ways to protect volunteers and how to plan for business continuity,’ she said.
