Millaa Millaa Golf News by Bob Collyer

This week’s winners Warrick Howwarth and Alan Hapgood.

Sunday the 8th saw a good crowd of over twenty turn out for the J & Y Reynolds four ball best ball Trophy Day.
The Reynolds family are long-time players and supporters of Millaa Millaa Golf and we thank them.
The weather was terrific with the rain holding off until the last teams were in.
Shot of the day went to two people, Alan (Happy) Hapgood with his great shot off the roof flashing onto the green and finishing easy birdie distance from the hole, the second was Carol Howard approach on eleven which behaved in ‘text book’ fashion into the hole.
There was some impressive team play today but the drawing of Alan Hapgood and Warick Howarth put together two players who the captains knew on their day would be hard to beat.
This prediction proved correct as they came in with plus nine (+9) two ahead of the nearest competition which again needed the dreaded count back which saw Don McHardie and Geoff Errey take second, and pushing Richard Sullivan and Mark Twomey back to third place, sorry guys that is the luck? of the countback.
Nearest to the pins were Graham Murray taking 1/10, our captain who has become a bit of a 5/14 specialist was well beaten this week by Grant Miller.
Second shot on 6/15 for the men went to Ray Marsh and the womens third shot on the same hole went to Marg Azar.
Michael Reynolds missed out on the members draw but the two weekly draws went to Alan Hapgood and Grant Millar.
Next week is sponsored by Carol Howard and is an Eclectic Stableford and is nine for nine thirty, see you there!
